Poplatky za převod bitcoinů!

Doporučené lékárny na hodnocení lékáren

@wildings a @růžový květ nikdy nedržím finanční prostředky a pouze provádím transakce.

@wildings, another member explained to me that the time depends on the pathway the btc travels, segwit vs non-segwit. a btc address that begins with bech will go faster, as will a bc. i had a legacy address that was the slowest.

i spent a couple of hours reading about this but had no idea how or if i could change my address so i just downloaded a different wallet and started over. this is no doubt a poor explanation but you can research it or ask someone much more knowledgeable. i spent hours trying to find out why my five dollars was stuck in the mempool and never did get an answer. the five bucks wasn't important but it was so frustrating.

I am. Person who can understand and deal with new technologies pretty well, (typical person which you ask for tech support to).

But for some reason I found quite difficult to understand all this world and took a whole morning to go to a place an buy BTC, transfer and all in order to pay a vendor... And feels just Insecure and roll of a dice as you say.

Am I the only one who is surprised that there's no All in one method to convert physical or regular money to BTC and transfer right away? (maybe there is)

I found myself having to wait for few days because the funds didn't confirm or something I didn't really understand...

I used Coinbase.

@notcharlotte I recall reading something to that effect, i.e. the segwit vs non-segwit channels ~ and as with you I have zero idea how to change the nodes/channels/... May I add the way you did it is way better than experiment in your wallet like electrum with the amount you plan on sending such as 300 bucks. As I said I have no clue what will happen if I flip the lightening channel switch as opposed to segwit (the default) and I don't feel inclined to start switching out defaults and see what happens. Much better to like you did install a new wallet. Another question is why can I buy 400 USD worth of BTC and in general it will priority cost 3.96 USD at an exchange then you send it from electrum and it can easily cost 9.96 to 28 USD. I don't get it. How fast does that mempool change? This is within 1 hour and it can change from 3.98 to 19.00 USD. I will try to implement the change of pathway change.
Upravit: @manuhalliwell the problem seems to be is that in fact there is a lack of peple that truly understand how this works. Einstein put it "if they can't explain it for a 7 year old to understand it they don't sufficiently understand the subject themselves. That seems true in this instance to me.

OMG. I don't know what I would have done with that mess. Them not replying to emails sounds like so damn true. Thank you for posting that so I will at least know there is such a thing as a legacy wallet that will freeze up without giving you a notice saying you need to update the wallet.

I never had good luck with Coinbase. They seem to hold your money for easily a week to somehow “be sure” it’s really coming, before they let you send it out again.

I don’t know if it’s available to where you are, but cashapp allows me to buy and then send pretty much immediately. I linked a bank account to the app (one in which i don’t keep a lot of money in) and that seems to allow me this ability.

If cashapp is available to you, you might want to check it out. Very easy and user friendly, imho once you get it set up…????

Thanks a lot for your recommendation, it really helped. It's a bummer that the app isn't available in my country, but next time I need to make a crypto payment, I'll look for another app that lets me pay faster.

Coinbase actually held one of my transactions for a week. Interestingly, the one I did through Google Pay was instant, but it only allowed a small amount, which wasn't enough to make the payment. I'll keep looking into it for next time.

Ještě jednou děkuji za vaši pomoc 😊

Someone told me I should actually deposit dollars into my Coinbase account, not as bitcoin but as dollars. Then if they’re already in the Coinbase account it should let you buy the Bitcoin and transfer it quickly as well, since it’s not “waiting “ to see if the money is actually coming from a different bank account. I never tried that but you might? Then you’d have a good setup?

There are likely country specific apps for bitcoin too altho it sure seems like Canada makes using bitcoin extremely hard, from what I’ve heard?

Thank you for the info, I'll give it a try next time I need to pay with bitcoin.

Until then I'll might search a simpler app tif that exists, also have read that there are apps with lower fees than coinbase, so one day I'll do my research to see if there's a simpler and cheaper option to do the transaction...

@manuhalliwell I haven't used paypal funded via google pay but it is possible and I see no reason for a waiting period with google pay. Coinmama has worked well for me using visa credit card with a very short wait, as in hour. Chase stopped all crypto so I ended it there but I know it works with visa using another base bank. The thing about coinmama is they can use credit cards and very little if any wait. could be for where you are from visa has no problem has no crypto problem.

Děkuji moc!

I'll try that one. I'm going a little crazy with so many sites and new information I was not used to lol. But I guess this is the new normal (paying in crypto) when it comes to ordering to IOP.

Every once in a while I see a ridiculous fee when I'm about to send some btc. If its high I cut it down to about 1/5 or so. It has always gone through in a reasonable amount of time. Most wallets will let you adjust the fee, you don't have to pay what it says

Just another reason why I been resisting getting into the whole digital currency thing. I know it is here to stay, just too early for my comfort level.... Retired.

That the nature of the beast, transferring seemingly regardless of the fee. that's a known fact of transferring with btc. you can transfer at times while it takes about the the same time transferring the same amount for the same fee, without regard of the time of day etc. i never got a straight answer why that happens, since everyone would do that.

another thing that seems to matter is the name or type of wallet such as XXX Wallet. Three letters followed by wallet. it appears that some wallets like the mentioned 3 letters then wallet. then some wallets will not accept from those or send to those wallets but evidently it does make a difference because I just had a vendor provided the address and xm* wallet. wtf is that? if I send to that will it reject it, accept it but not go to the correct place...
Anyone have any info on that wallet name deal?

You can tell the type of BTC address by the beginning characters. Four types currently, I believe. All it really matters is the fee you’ll pay sending to the specific address. Most software is updated to support all of them, but depreciated software may only work with older ones.

1…”Legacy” - Oldest, highest fees to send to, most compatible.
3…”SegWit” - Newer, lower fees to send to.
bc1…”Bech32 SegWit” - Newer, even lower fees to send to. This is best if you can use it.
bc1p…”Taproot/Bech32m” - Newest, not widely supported, likely won’t see in the wild for now.

I’m not familiar with an address beginning with “xm…” XMR is the abbreviation for Monero, but those addresses begin with a 4 or an 8.

BTC lightning network is a protocol to send BTC. Think of it like PayPal/CashApp/Venmo specifically for BTC. Both you and the person would need to have a lightning wallet to be able to send. You couldn’t accidentally send BTC to a lightning wallet. They use “invoices” instead of wallet addresses.

Použijte Litecoin
Soooooo much better. Though lacking the privacy of XMR. I just hate bitcoin lol.

@Nubzor re:litecoin … yeah, if I need xmr then I buy ltc, send to cake wallet where I exchange for xmr… still only cost a few pounds per 100.
It’s fast and cheap. Btc has had its day I think

@wildings there is an em dot com website. it seems to be a trading platform, but most of the info is gibberish to me. vendors seem determined to make our lives difficult. i understand btc is volatile and they want to protect themselves but constantly learning new platforms sucks.
